Another sad but positive outcome to the illegal fishing around Lombok and the Gilis protected marine park of The Gili Matra Marine Natural Recreational Park.

This Leopard or Zebra shark was released unhurt by some carying Gili island's Dive instructors, it was obviously distraught after its capture, and after some nursing and a very very slow descent back to its natural depth and surroundings, it slowly took off to hopefully live out its days amongst the corals of the marine park, to be enjoyed by snorkellers and divers alike for many years to come. A happy ending for one shark at least.
